MiMi is a Certfied Arborist with an extensive horticultural background. She does tree estimates and management plans, impact reports and in-person presentations to various organizations and homeowners groups. MiMi founded Far West Nursery and Landscaping in the early '70's. She loves to share her knowledge with every customer because putting nature first means having a total appreciation of all the benefits that come from truly professional arbor care.

Jeremy Nama - Operations
You'll find Jeremy in the trees, supervising the crew and setting pruning standards. Jeremy is a Certified Arborist with a solid understanding of tree anatomy, function, shaping and diagnostic health. He's committed to raising the public's awareness of tree conditions and the environment, and he oversees the company's education and certification of its employees.
Dick Scoppettone - Marketing
MiMi's husband, Dick handles the company's marketing and website. As CEO, he gets to pick the music that you hear wafting through the trees when the crews are working. Back in the good old days (the '60's), Dick was the lead singer for the band, Harpers Bizarre ("Feelin' Groovy"). Nowadays, sans guitar, he pretty much sings only when his partners are feelin' groovy (like when the P&L and Balance Sheet spell profit).
Amy Nama - Customer Services
Amy is Jeremy's wife and the mother of their two boys, Tristan and Logan. She's provides the most direct connection between Nature First and the public, and if you're a customer, you'll hear from her regularly as she is constantly monitoring satisfaction levels. She also produces the annual Nature First event called "Kids 'n Trees" which happens every October.

Jason Nama - Foreman
Jason is a Santa Cruz guy who’s been in the tree business for 14 years. He specializes in meticulous fine pruning and is a master of great customer relationships. His goal is to become a Certified Arborist and be the best one in the business. Very big on beach time, he’s also into mountain biking, gardening, camping and living very much in the present. For the future, he envisions new technology that will make the job of providing tree services easier.
Jaime Merritt - Foreman
After six years in the tree business, Jaime, already a Certified Tree Climber, recently became a Certified Arborist. Originally from Glen Ellen (Sonoma County), he loves woodworking (somewhere in his future there’s a nice piece of property with a big shop) and he has an unusual assortment of hobbies including bone collecting, bonsai, gardening, reptiles and engineering. His skills at present are directed at fruit trees and big tree pruning and removals.
Nate Chambers - Foreman
Nate's been in the business for eight years and is a Certified Tree Climber. He's into pruning big trees and studying the technicalities of tree rigging. This Nashville, TN boy is a surfer, an outdoors enthusiast, and a "gittar" picker. Becoming a Certified Arborist is in his sights this year as well as starting a family as with his wife in their recently-purchased home. And he's noticing more and more customers are becoming sophisticated (and educated) about tree work.
